Chapter VI - Optically transparent thin layer spectroelectrochemistry (Part 3)
This movie is the Chapter VI of the series of Basic knowledge of the spectroelectrochemical method, optically transparent thin layer spectroelectrochemistry (Part 3)
The lecture summary is as follows:
The relationship between the potential and the ligand equilibrium constant K for redox systems involving different ligand substitution equilibrium is obtained by Nernst plots from optically transparent thin layer cell measurements. And analyze the potential equation EO' and the electron transfer number n of each component of the electrode process with two consecutive electron transfers.
[00:34] Oxidation or reduction involves substitution of ligands, and thus the reduction potentials equation (EO') are related to the properties of the ligands.
[01:53] The effect of different magnitudes of the potential and the absorbance coefficient of each component on the Nernst plots for an electrode process containing two consecutive electron transfers.
